 2007 - organized on the initiative of Professor HH Kushiev on the basis of the laboratory "Experimental Biology";

The gene bank of salt-tolerant plants is a branch of the scientific school of Professor HH Kushiev, which was established in 2007 on his initiative on the basis of the laboratory "Experimental Biology". Establishment of this gene bank H.Kushiev's cooperation with international organizations ICARDA, ICBA, IWMI, Bioversity, in 2004-2008 in cooperation with these international organizations the Asian Development Bank's PROJECT RETA-9 "Enabling communities in the Aral Sea basin to combat land and water Resource degradation through the creation of 'bright' spots »formed on the basis of the results of a preliminary study with the international organization of resistant varieties of wheat. Raj Paroda, the head of ICARDA's Tashkent office, provided financial support for the formation of Genbank's initial material and technical base. Initially, in the gene bank and its catalog, mainly suitable varieties of winter wheat, selected on the basis of the RETA 9 project from the database of the international bank ICBA, acacia ampliceps, Acacia ampliceps,atreplix amnicola (Atriplex amnicola), atriplix undulata (Atriplex undulata) are introduced plant species. / corn (na zerno i na silos), millet / proso, beet / beet (table and fodder), mosh / mash, sesame, broom-tariq / sorgo venichnoe, sudanoti / sudanskaya trava, azolla. Based on the results of subsequent research, the plants were enriched with samples of other species and varieties.

     Plants used in the production based on the results of the study of salt-resistant plants available in the catalog of Genbank: 
 -licorice (Glycyrrhiza glabra) - plantations were established in the fields that were decommissioned due to salinization. The root system of sweet licorice is processed at the plant, which was established on the basis of foreign investment, and the products are now exported abroad. Stimulants and fungicides based on the processing of the root system are also used in agriculture. 
 -Acacia ampliceps, Acrepia amnicola, Atriplex undulata were introduced in the research and production system of research centers of Uzbekistan and Central Asia.
 4 varieties of wheat suitable for the conditions (Boyovut-1, Sayhun, Hasan-Arif, GulSU) were created and included in the register of promising varieties of agricultural plants.
 -Cultivated cultivar "Bachla" (Vika) "Mirzachul" was created, included in the register of promising varieties of agricultural plants as a promising variety and a patent was issued for the variety created by the Intellectual Property Agency.  8 varieties of sweet potatoes were created and included in the register of promising varieties of agricultural plants as promising varieties. The created varieties were certified by the Variety Testing Commission, and patents were issued for each of the 8 varieties created by the Intellectual Property Agency.
 5 varieties of peas (autumn and spring) were created, each created variety was included in the register of promising varieties of agricultural plants and patents were issued for varieties created by the Intellectual Property Agency. Varieties are applied to production.
